Vogelsang cooperates with Danish company BioCover
Vogelsang GmbH & Co. KG is cooperating with the Danish company BioCover, whose SyreN system offers a method for stabilising liquid manure. Through this cooperation, Vogelsang is expanding its product range in the efficient liquid manure management segment and will produce SyreN at its headquarters in Essen (Oldenburg), Germany.
“Our partnership with BioCover showcases our consistent pursuit of environmentally friendly and low emission liquid manure spreading. Adding sulphuric acid before depositing the liquid manure decreases ammonia emissions, increases use of nutrients like nitrogen and reduces the odour,” says Harald Vogelsang, Managing Director of Vogelsang.
SyreN combined with efficient spreading methods
Stabilising the liquid manure with SyreN can reduce ammonia emissions by up to 50 percent. Prior to this, these improvements could only be achieved using the slitting method or the injection technology for growing crops. Now, users can achieve these figures with SyreN – with better area output and less damage to the plants. The system can be combined with efficient spreading technologies that operate close to the soil, like dribble bar or trailing shoe systems.
Stabilising organic liquid manures with SyreN also helps to make more nitrogen available to the plants and reduce expenditure on inorganic fertiliser.
Tailored metering of acid quantities
During liquid manure spreading, concentrated sulphuric acid is added to the flow of liquid manure from a tank mounted in front of the tractor. The system measures the liquid manure’s pH in real time and adds precisely the quantity of acid required to reach the target pH of roughly 6.0. As SyreN is easy to retrofit, users can still use their existing tankers and spreading equipment.
Vogelsang will première the liquid manure acidification system at its in-house exhibition “Vogelsang Technology UPDATE 2021” (17-19/11/2020, at its headquarters in Essen, Oldenburg).
