Our family farm covers 55 hectares of grassland and we keep a total of 50 dairy cows. Elevations due to regional conditions mean that about 25 hectares of our land are inaccessible. This is where the rearing of young cattle takes place. The remaining 30 hectares are located at about 800 meters above sea level.
As well as running our own farm, we also offer contract work for other farmers here in the region. When it comes to liquid manure spreading, the demand for trailing shoe technology has increased enormously. At the same time, the changed legal requirements demand the use of innovative solutions. That’s why we chose the UniSpread linkage from Vogelsang back in August 2021. We’re delighted with our decision. Since we’ve been using it, we have spread about 5000 m³ of liquid manure and have not had to deal with the formation of plugs once so far.
Some of our customers, who we drive to for our contract work, are located at up to 1000 meters above sea level. As a result, some areas have significant slopes, but are still accessible. The UniSpread linkage does all it promised here too. Thanks to some minor adjustments and close consultation with Vogelsang, everything is running smoothly. The trailing shoe linkage is lightweight, compact and easy to use.
Compared to spreading with a swing spreader, the advantages of the trailing shoe linkage are very clear. The extra yield can be seen with the naked eye. The grassland appears denser, more stable and saturated. It’s easy to see how effi cient the low-emission spreading technology actually is. We are absolutely delighted that we chose Vogelsang. We are now well prepared for the coming years.
